The Computer Model

The design I finally chose is shown in the computer generated views and the plan below. The plan shows the ground floor only and part of the surroundings.

The extension essentially covered the original walled courtyard area, but stretched forward to wrap the roof line around at the front to form a new outer entrance porch. This allowed the extension to be 1.5m wider than the main house as well as providing an extra room. This feature also blended with neighbouring houses which had similarly designed garages attached to the house.

The roof line was designed to run parallel with the main roof, again to blend in.

The line of the rear wall of the house was continued at the back to form a passage way through to the garden from a new gate between the garage and the extension.
